Auctions. Similar to a live auction, buyers bid on items posted for auction. Once a winner is declared, purchase orders and invoices are sent electronically.
Reverse auctions are a way for buyers to let suppliers know what they want and how much they are willing to pay. The buyer fills out a template (called a specification book) containing technical data on the product they are seeking. Bidding is in decrements, and the winner is the company with the lowest bid. The specification book is one of the most powerful tools in Beautyportal.net because it gives companies the power to create an entire new product from scratch. The product can then be marketed to retailers using the tools designed for Beauty portal such as emails, electronic faxes, chat rooms, 3D web presentations and more.

Beauty portal is able to accomplish all of this because it was designed to meet the specific needs of companies in the beauty industry. It was created over a period of two years and was intended to stand alone, but it can be easily integrated into existing legacy systems.
